About
McLeod River Campground is located 23 kilometres southeast of Hinton, Alberta, within the McLeod River Provincial Recreation Area. The campground features 51 unserviced campsites and operates from May 1 to October 16. Amenities include firepits, firewood, and pit or vault toilets. Water provided by the hand pump is not safe for consumption and is intended for fire suppression only. The facility is managed by the West Fraser Mills-Fox Creek Development Association, and unreserved sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Alberta seniors may qualify for a camping fee discount. The area includes walking trails along the riverbank and the McLeod River Silviculture Trail for hiking and mountain biking.
