About
Red Deer River South Campground is located in the Red Deer River Provincial Recreation Area, 60 km southwest of Sundre on Forestry Trunk Road (Hwy. 734). This foothills campground is adjacent to Fisher-Wigwam Creek and provides access to the Red Deer River. The campground is self-maintained and operated by the Friends of the Eastern Slopes. It offers 50 unserviced, first-come, first-served campsites year-round. OHVs are permitted on established roadways within the recreation area. Amenities include firepits and pit/vault toilets. A nightly fee is not charged; campers are encouraged to purchase an annual membership. Water from the hand pump is not safe for consumption. Firewood is not available.
