About
Maqua Lake Provincial Recreation Area is located on the eastern shore of Maqua Lake, approximately 37 km southeast from Fort McMurray, Alberta. This provincial campground offers individual campsites and group campsites. The campground and group use area are closed for the season as of September 8, 2026, until further notice. The day use area remains available through the fall season. Activities include canoeing/kayaking, beach access, camping, group use, picnics, and wildlife viewing. The non-motorized lake is suitable for paddlers.
