About
MacMillan Provincial Park (Cathedral Grove) is located on central Vancouver Island, 16km east of Port Alberni on Highway 4. The park protects an internationally significant example of Douglas fir old-growth forest. Visitors can explore a network of trails through towering ancient Douglas firs, some over 800 years old, and groves of ancient western red cedar. Smoking is prohibited in the park. Pets must be kept on a leash. Cycling is permitted on roadways only. This park is for day-use only, and the source text does not indicate the presence of a campground or overnight facilities.
