About
Juniper Beach Provincial Park, established in 1989, protects a representative desert landscape with sagebrush, prickly pear cactus, and juniper. Located 19 km east of Cache Creek on Highway 1, the park provides access to the Thompson River. Both CNR and CPR railway tracks run by the park. Activities include boating, fishing, and photography. Visitors can also find undesignated trails for hiking. A small swimming hole is available during lower water levels, though river currents are swift. Pets are permitted on leash but not on beaches or in day-use areas. The park attracts many bird species, and wildlife such as rattlesnakes and deer may be present.
