Thunder Lake Provincial Park is located west of Barrhead, Alberta, and offers 127 campsites, including 66 powered sites. The park has new service facilities, including updated showers, washrooms, and a sani-dump with a water fill station. These are located at the park entrance. The seven-square-kilometer lake offers a boat launch, dock, and rentals for paddle boards, canoes, and kayaks. Activities include fishing for northern pike and yellow perch, swimming, boating, and water skiing. The park also provides forested trails for mountain biking and a lakeside trail for hiking. An advisory for blue-green algae is in effect for Thunder Lake.
