About
Halkett Bay Marine Provincial Park is located on the southeastern shore of Gambier Island in Howe Sound, British Columbia. Open from January to December, this provincial park features three developed, boat-access-only wilderness tent campsites. Park facilities are minimal, consisting of picnic tables and one pit toilet. Potable water and garbage services are not provided, requiring visitors to bring their own drinking water and pack out all waste. Campfires are prohibited throughout the park. Recreational opportunities include cold-water ocean swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking trails, such as a 10-kilometre route to Mount Artaban. Moorage is available in the bay, though tying up to the park float is permitted only for dinghies.
